BE A GOOD CITIZEN OF NIGERIA:

-Essay by Diplomatic Blessing.

Being a good citizen is not just about following laws and regulations, but also about actively contributing to the well-being of society. To be a good citizen, I believe that it is important to be aware of and involved in community matters, to treat others with respect and kindness, and to have a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

First and foremost, being a good citizen means being aware of the issues that affect one's community and actively participating in finding solutions. This can be done through attending community meetings and events, volunteering for local organizations, or even just being informed about local news. By staying informed and involved, one can actively contribute to the betterment of society. Personally, I make it a point to stay informed about the current affairs in my community and actively participate in activities that aim to improve the quality of life for everyone.

Furthermore, treating others with respect and kindness is essential for being a good citizen. Respect and kindness foster a sense of unity and community, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." I strive to live by this quote and treat others with kindness and empathy. This can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, showing gratitude, or actively listening to others' opinions and perspectives. These small acts of kindness can go a long way in creating a harmonious and inclusive society.

Additionally, being a good citizen also entails having a sense of responsibility towards the environment. With the increasing concerns about global warming and climate change, it is crucial that each individual takes steps towards sustainability and conservation. Some of the actions I take to be a responsible citizen include reducing my carbon footprint by using public transportation or walking whenever possible, recycling and minimizing waste, and conserving energy and water at home. By making these conscious choices, I believe that I am contributing to the collective effort in preserving our planet for future generations.

In conclusion, being a good citizen takes more than just obeying laws and regulations. It involves actively participating in community matters, treating others with respect and kindness, and taking responsibility for the environment. My commitment to being a good citizen involves being aware of and involved in my community, showing kindness and respect to others, and taking steps to preserve our planet. By embodying these principles, I strive to make a positive impact and contribute to the betterment of society as a whole.

YOU, YOUR PARTNER AND YOUR PROSPECTIVE IN-LAWS! -DiplomaticBlessing The way your prospective family in-law treats you the first time you visit says a few things; the type of people they are, the level respect they have for your partner and the way your partner has presented you to them. If they are rude or disrespectful to you on your first visit, it’s either they are just rude and disrespectful generally, they don’t respect your partner or your partner has created the impression that you can be disrespected by just anyone, or all of the above. Africans are generally known for their hospitality, so this notion that women need to perform respect, humility and subservience to be accepted by their prospective in-law is deeply rooted in misogyny and we can pretend all we want, but I’ve never heard of any family ordering a male visitor to sweep the house, do the dishes or do laundry on his first visit. They are not even asked to do the “traditionally masculine” tasks like hewing ...
WHY WE HAVE OUR BEST IDEAS IN THE SHOWER! 🚿 The shower is a unique environment and creativity spot that combines relaxation, mild distraction, and a boost in feel-good chemicals that help create the perfect conditions for your brain to unlock its creative potential. Here are some explanations behind this inspiration: The science behind shower thoughts A study in the journal Psychological Science states that when you let your thoughts wander, you also activate a region of the brain called the “default mode network,” a state where you dwell on your own experiences, ideas, a nd feelings while your mind wanders and processes self-referential and autobiographical information, according to neurologist Marcus Raichle. This ‘default mode network’ is activated while taking a shower, and it is time the brain produces insightful discoveries and original concepts that you might not have otherwise thought about. Relaxed mind and reduced stress Your stress level drops and the body...
